December 24, 2014

December 24, 2014 – Here it is 4am, it’s raining and I’m finally trying to get caught up with the blog. Been busy and Travis gave me his old I-phone 5. Learning how to text and use Facebook has taken me away from the blog. I have been making posts on Facebook which can be followed using my name.
We hung a bird feeder on the back window and have attracted a following. Chickadees, Tufted Titmouse, Cardinals, Wrens and Finches to the feeder and on the ground we have had Robins, Towhees, Mourning Doves and of course squirrels. When the kids aren’t with us, we go see them. Went the Charlotte Motor Speedway last Sunday to see to Christmas lights. A great display. A line of vehicles that looked like a scene from the movie Field of Dreams.
We do have a few Christmas lights hung. Thanks to Junior for the little camper lights.
Thursday we have to move to another site. The RV Park has a restriction of 14 nights on the site. It’s not like the place is filled up. But we’ll choose another until we leave on the 31st for Florida.

December 15, 2014 – Day of rest!!!!!!! The two munchkins have gone home, my back aches and our nerves have been stretched. But we had a good time with the boys. Went metal detecting (found about 30 cents and a lead sinker), played at the playground, went beach combing, gathered pine cones, burned sticks and leaves and watched numerous movies they had brought with them. Saturday evening went Lake Wylie to watch the Christmas boat parade. The boys were greeted by Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus. We have neighbors camping in a tent with three dogs that run loose. We are going to see if we can move to another site. And above all, the coffee maker quit working……………………

December 12, 2014 – We are now setup at Ebenezer RV Park in Rockhill, South Carolina. Left Kentucky about 10am and traveled to Hendersonville, NC and stayed the night in a Walmart parking lot. Temperatures in KY and NC (had frost) were in the thirty’s and here in SC currently 60 degrees. Time to get shorts back out. Hope our friends in New York are not too cold! Sebastian and Colton should be here soon to spend the weekend with us.

November 2, 2014 – This morning the temperature at 5am was 24 degrees. Maybe we should go back to New York where it is warm…………………… NAW – NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!!!!!!!

Yesterday we were taken on a ride-about. Went to a large RV dealer in Clarksville, Indiana. We are looking at fifth wheel trailers. If the right deal comes around, maybe a trade. We went to the second largest Bass Pro located in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Then on to a Mexican restaurant called Chuy’s in Louisville, KY. Finally on to Trader Joe’s. They have an orange mandarin chicken that is out of this world. And the pumpkin cereal bars………….. Can’t get enough. The Trader Joe’s caramel corn and maple leaf cookies are well worth the trip.

October 2, 2014 – We are back in Rineyville, KY. We clicked our heels together and ……”wala”.

October 12, 2014 – Last Monday, we signed up at a fitness center. Our medicare through Humana covers the costs no matter where we are parked. Needed to address our never ending increase in body resizing. Saturday Junior took us to Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky derby. Went through their museum, the track and winners circle. All very interesting. Then on to The Cheesecake Factory for a lunch/supper combo. Now it’s back to the gym!

October 1, 2014 – We dropped the trailer off this morning and explored the Corbin area. Came back to KOA and did laundry, went to Walmart, had lunch at Cracker Barrel, toured the main business section of Corbin and went to Cumberland Falls State Park. Took a couple of pictures. Ran the truck through a wash and back to the RV dealer. Service completed. Back to KOA for the night then on to Rineyville tomorrow. I threw in a picture from Tuesday while driving the hills of Virginia. At one point we were at an elevation of 4500’. Thought the name was interesting. “Bear Claw Holler”

October 2, 2014 – We are back in Rineyville, KY.

Seotember 30, 2014

September 30, 2014 – On the road in Corbin, Kentucky at a KOA campground. We go to the RV dealer tomorrow hopefully to get the warranty work completed. It was a long croaked drive. Went 300 miles and never was on an interstate. Nothing but state highways. We took the scenic routes, US58 and US19.
